E.G... London by Emma Griffiths

 
I've been a fan of Emma Griffiths since I saw her collection at On|Off during London Fashion Week AW 2010. She was one of three designers showing in The Welsh Designers Collective, but it was her collection that had me really interested (read what I thought about it here). Her bold pieces are unashamedly sexy, with lots of bodycon and knotted bandage dresses, spray on leggings, and lashings of attitude. She is definitely one to watch!


Trained at the University of Westminster, Creative director Emma Griffiths has worked with world renowned iconic designers Alexander McQueen and Boudicca. Her designs are directly influenced by her work with these groundbreaking designers, which can be observed in the quality and attention to detail seen throughout her collections. Direct from finishing University, Emma opened a pop up boutique selling other designers wares. Her own designs quickly took over the rails as demand increased.

Emma is inspired by all forms of art and design which is reflected in her diverse structural collections. She has recently taken part in the ground breaking BBC show The Apprentice. Her shows have included Graduate Fashion Week, Welsh Fashion Week, and 2010 London Fashion Week. The E.G diffusion range holds the record for the highest ever sales recorded in Topshop EDIT, which was re-ordered after a day, and sold out in a week earlier in 2010.

E.g has been covered by Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Suzie Bubble’s Style Bubble, Kingdom of Style, LO.LA magazine, BBC News online, ABC News trend report on the return of the shoulder pads, Drapers, fashion 156, and Fiasco magazine’s debut June 2010 edition.

E.G is a new label aimed at the metro-sexual woman – a female who is strong, confident and unafraid to embrace her masculine side while still remaining beautifully sexy and alluring.

Worn by a spectrum of celebrities, including Nicky Minaj, Ciara, Michelle Collins and Karen Bradey, and also including a special commission by Beth Ditto. E.G appeals to the empowered directional woman of all ages.

It has been described as having been designed, created and produced with the emphasis on the independent, unique woman looking for luxury with no compromise on eccentric glamour.



Emma Griffiths will be exhibiting at London Fashion Week AW 2011.
